Great News!

Your Account Executive has a New Email Address

Congratulations to Candy Davis, formerly Candy Shafer, who was married on October 7. Her new email address is Candy.Davis@phpcares.com and will be effective immediately. Please call Candy for assistance with new group sales.

New Phone System

In order to better route your phone calls, PHPSM has implemented a new automated phone system to accept calls when our receptionist is away from her desk. You can dial by name or extension, or can choose Option 3 to be transferred to the Sales Department Administrative Assistant. You can also call our direct-dial phone numbers listed on the Contact List below.

FREE for New Members

PHPSM encourages new members (including agents who have PHPSM) to take our New Member Satisfaction Survey. This survey helps us evaluate our benefit and marketing materials. New members will be sent a Free PHPSM T-shirt for completing the survey. To complete the survey:
  1. Call 517-841-7477 to access the survey system.
  2. Press 7 to select the New Member Satisfaction Survey.
  3. Follow the voice prompts for completing the survey.
At the end of the survey, please include your name, address and t-shirt size to receive your FREE t-shirt. The t-shirt will be mailed to the address given.

Reminder: New Group Deadlines

To help ensure that the members are entered and ID cards are generated before a group's effective date, paperwork for new groups must be received by PHPSM a minimum of 15 days prior to the effective date. Required documentation includes:
  • Group Policy Information Sheet
  • Enrollment Forms
  • Employment Verification: Prior Insurance Bill or MESC.

Changes are Coming That WILL Affect You!

Transition Information

As you may have heard, Physicians Health Plan of Mid-Michigan and Physicians Health Plan of South Michigan are implementing a new operating system. The transition is currently planned for January 1, 2007. This new system will provide powerful and flexible enrollment and claims processing and will have fully integrated eBusiness solutions. Here is a list of some of the things that may affect your daily activities:
  • New commission statement and process
  • View only access to eServices as of 11/1
  • eBill users will receive their last eBill on November 17th for December enrollment
  • Your January paper invoice will have a new look and a new submission address
  • Billing contacts will change
  • New group numbers will be assigned
  • Enrollment forms and submission procedures will change
  • Member ID cards will have a new look
  • New online capabilities will be offered through HealthWeb®
We are excited to bring you this technology upgrade. Our new operating system is anticipated to be more efficient and easier to use. You will receive communications about the changes listed above as new systems and processes are implemented. Transition Training – Everything you need to know about our January Transition!

Mark Your Calendars!

Producer Training is scheduled for December 5, 2006 from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. at Bella Notte Ristorante, downtown Jackson. This training session will provide you with everything you need to know about the transition changes that are scheduled to take place on January 1, 2007. This training is not mandetory, but we strongly encourage you to attend. Topics to be discussed will include:

  • New billing and enrollment contacts and addresses
  • New BPL's
  • Commission changes
  • New group numbers
  • January Invoice transition
  • New Invoice
  • New enrollment form and submission address
  • ID Card changes
  • HealthWeb demonstration
This training will enhance your knowledge of our new procedures and give you an opportunity to ask questions. Transition guides will be given out at the training. Appetizers and door prizes will be available. Formal invitations will be mailed to each agent. To RSVP in advance, please email carmela.lazarus@phpcares.com to reserve your seat. We will see you there!

Training for Employers will be held on December 7 & 8. There will be two seminars each day. Please encourage your Employers to attend one of our four transition training sessions.

Changes to the January Renewal Deadline

Calendar
Due to our transition, ALL changes to January renewals must be submitted by November 22. If changes are requested after the deadline, they will not reflect on the January invoice. Changes after November 22 will reflect as corrections on the February invoice. Thank you for your assistance and your understanding as we complete our transition. Please feel free to contact your Account Service Representative if you have questions about the November 22 deadline.

eSERVICE Changes

Access to eServices will end on October 31, 2006, as part of PHPSM's transition away from United HealthCare. You and your employers will receive information in early January about obtaining HealthWeb access - allowing you to perform the same tasks you could do in eServices and more! Please use paper forms to enroll or change enrollment until you and your employers have access to HealthWeb. Paper forms can be obtained from our website - www.PHPCares.com. Please fax or mail the completed forms to the PHPSM Customer Service Department until our transition is complete and a new mailing address is supplied.

eBILL Changes

eBILL
eBill Users will receive your last full electronic invoice for December on November 17, as part of PHP's transition away from United HealthCare. Users will, however, continue to receive electronic invoices for 60 days for retroactive enrollments and/or disenrollments with effective dates prior to January 1, 2007. Please send payments for retroactive electronic invoices to the address indicated on the eBill.

eBill Users will receive a newly redesigned paper invoice for January and subsequent invoices. Beginning with the January invoice that you will receive late December, paper invoices for activity after 1/1/07 will be mailed to your current billing address and will include a new remittance address. Please mail all paper invoice payments to the new remittance address indicated on the paper invoice. eBill will be replaced by HealthWeb in early 2007.

It's Your Life – Available to all Employers!

The It's Your Life health management program is available free to all PHPSM members, but is also available to any employer seeking to decrease health care costs and increase productivity. The attached rate sheet details the cost of the It's Your Life program to employers that do not have PHPSM. Get the Most Accurate Quote

To ensure that you are getting the most accurate rate for your group, please make sure to include not only the age of the employee, but also include the age of the spouse. Gender and number of children are also required. If you have questions about quoting requirements, please call your Account executive.
