PHPSM has implemented an Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder initiative for our members and providers. Based on clinical data, PHPSM identified a need within our community to address the growing number of children who have ADHD. We have involved our clinical practitioners ranging from behavioral health specialties to pediatricians and primary care physicians and also local school representatives in the development of this initiative.
This multidisciplinary group developed and piloted a tool box to educate practitioners, office staff, parents/caregivers, and teachers on the barriers and best practices of interacting with children with ADHD. It provides fact sheets, checklists, assessments, evaluations, etc. and can be used by both clinical practitioners and school representatives. It also addresses benefit/cost issues. |
