Physicians Health Plan of South Michigan is a locally owned and operated, not for-profit HMO headquartered in Jackson, Michigan, affiliated with W.A. Foote Memorial Hospital.

PHPSM is the only locally owned and headquartered health plan in the area. This means we better understand the special health needs of our community, and customize our products and services to meet them. Because of our local presence, we’re also much easier to access than other health plans. You can telephone and even walk in our front door any time during normal business hours with a question or concern. And you’ll always talk to a live person—someone who might just be your family, friend or neighbor.

We’re committed to working together on outreach efforts, quality initiatives, health coalitions and prevention programs to improve the health status of our PHPSM members. We Have a Plan for You

We have created cost-effective health plan products to meet the needs of our diverse audience, from small business owners to large corporations. These range from extremely comprehensive group health benefits to those with deductibles for medical care and/or prescriptions. Every plan provides access to our exceptional network of providers—the largest in our service area—comprising more than a thousand primary care physicians and specialists, as well as many hospitals, urgent care facilities and pharmacies. All plans include discounts at optical and vision providers throughout the region, as well as discounts for leading-edge laser vision corrective surgery.
