Mission
Physicians Health Plan of South Michigan’s mission is to improve the health status of our members by providing quality, compassionate, accessible, and cost-effective health services through an organized delivery system. PHPSM will create opportunities for improved health through a partnership of shared responsibility with our members, purchasers, and health care providers. Our relationships focus on quality, cost-effective management of services in an environment of continuous quality improvement.

Vision
During the next five years, PHPSM will focus on wellness initiatives which promote healthy lifesytles and will strive to improve the health status of our local community. Additionally, PHPSM will strive to be the leading health care providers in the region and act as the health system integrator of the continuum of health services. To achieve this vision, PHPSM will:
  • Focus on placing wellness activities in organizations that participate with PHPSM to improve the health status of the community
  • Educate the community to become partners in their health care
  • Develop care management relationships throughout the care continuum to streamline quality health delivery
  • Aggressively market our products to organizations to increase market share of our core products
  • Develop and promote alternative products to organizations that want insurance alternatives
  • Function as a good corporate citizen
